Make a difference in your community

Volunteer at Dale Cottages

We provide a broad range of opportunities to volunteer at Dale Cottages. Opportunities include spending time engaging our residents, whether that’s having a chat over a cup of tea or playing a game of cards. You may wish to help out with our community activities or help the team in our care home. Either way, it’s a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

How you can help

There are a number of opportunities to volunteer at Dale Cottages in a variety of roles including:

Driving

There are volunteering opportunities to drive our buses for local outings for the Greendale Community Centre to drive our village and residential care home residents to and from appointments. These appointments could be local or as far as Fremantle or Perth. We also require bus drivers (MR Licence) for weekly outings for our residents.

Dale Cottages manages the Greendale Community Centre which provides a range of activities to seniors within the community as well as a lunch service Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Volunteers assist with the money collection and serving of the meals in the dining room. We simply request that you help us for a maximum of one and half hours a day – Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

Put a smile on the face of our residents

Companionship is something we all need. Our residents really enjoy our team of volunteers who visit. As a volunteer, you can spend time with our residents chatting, reading or even taking a walk with them around the gardens. You may choose to help in the kiosk or help our Occupational Therapy Assistants who are always looking for enthusiastic helpers to assist in planned activities such as bingo, craft, movies afternoons and footy tipping.

Register your interest

If you’re interested in volunteering, simply register your interest and we will be in touch. You’ll need to follow our guidelines to follow and complete all necessary in-house training. A national police clearance must also be provided for volunteers who work with our residential care home clients, however, our admin team can help you with this.
